Who is Drea De Matteo?

Andrea Donna de Matteo was born January 19, 1972 in Queens, New York to a playwright and a playwriting teacher, named Donna and a furniture manufacturer, Albert De Matteo. She is an Emmy-winning American actress, known for her role as Joey Tribbiani’s sister Gina on the NBC sitcom Joey. It was De Matteo’s original idea to become a director, not an actress. She was so successful as an Italian American actress that she settled quite easily into this position. De Matteo has appeared in the Sopranos early in her career winning an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress (Drama); she was also nominated for a golden globe for that same role. This has helped launch her fast into stardom. She speaks fluent Italian and Spanish; she was nominated for Hot 100 Women of 2001-2002 by Maxim, ranking #42 and #56 respectively. It would seem that this actress gets hotter each year. De Matteo is expecting her first child December 2007. She is dating Shooter Jennings, son of country music legend Waylon Jennings.
