Claire Forlani was born in Twickenham in London to Pier Forlani, a music manager from Italy. Her mother was Barbara, who was an English woman. Forlani began studying and acting in the Arts Educational School in London. She spent six years studying dance, which led to stage performances in The Nutcracker and Orpheus in the Underworld. Forlani brought her to San Francisco in order that she would have more casting opportunities in Hollywood. She was cast in the television mini-series J.F.K.: Reckless Youth and The film Police Academy: Mission to Moscow. Playing a supporting role as Brandi in Mallrats, she also appeared in a supporting role as Sean Connery's daughter in the blockbuster action movie, The Rock. Forlani appeared in both widely released films and smaller budgeted films. She was cast in Deep Rising in 1998, but left the set after just a few days. She has been ranked #89 and #51 in Stuff Magazines 100 Sexiest Women and #85 in 2001 in FHM magazines 100 Sexiest Women. In 2003, Forlani co-starred with Jackie Chan in The Medallion. In 2006, Forlani joined the cast of CSI: New York in a recurring role as Dr. Peyton Driscoll, a medical examiner. She portrayed Tori Bodeen in February 2007 in the movie version of Caroline Moon. Forlani has dated Brad Pitt, John Cusack, Benicio del Toro and in June of 2007 married actor Dougray Scott.
