Cynthia Ann Crawford, known by most as Cindy Crawford is an American Supermodel, MTV television personality, cover girl and actress. She was born in February 20, 1966 in Dekalb, Illinois. Born to Jennifer Sue Walker Crawford and John Dan Crawford her trademark is a visible mole on her face. Most people refer to this mole as a beauty mark and she has appeared in chocolate commercials licking off her own mole. During her early work, her mole was removed from many of the pictures, including her first Vogue cover. Cindy’s brother died of leukaemia when he was a child and she has made childhood leukaemia a focus in her charity work and donating the proceeds from calendars she’s made to research. She was discovered by a newspaper photographer when she was sixteen and at work pollinating corn as a summer job. The photo and the feedback she got about the picture made her decide to take up modelling. She graduated high school with a 4.0 grade point average. She won a scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University, but attended only one quarter before she dropped out to pursue modelling. Crawford was married to Richard Gere briefly and she and her current husband Rande Gerber have two children Presley and Kaya. The family resides in Los Angeles, California where Cindy gave birth to both children at home.
