Chloe Sevigny was born in November 18, 1974 in Connecticut, United States of America. Her mother was of Polish-American heritage and her father was a descendant of French nobility. She also has an older brother named Paul, who works as a New York DJ. She moved out of her home to Brooklyn when she was 18 years old. Her first real work came, when she was hired by the Sassy Magazine as an intern. She was dubbed as the it-girl by the New Yorker magazine. Chloe Sevigny appeared in several music videos for Sonic Youths Sugar Cane and the Lemonheads Big Gay Heart. After that, her real debut came as she starred in the independently made movie Kids by the filmmaker Harmony Korin. She portrayed a teen-age girl who had just learned that she had contracted AIDS. After this film, she also stared in Gummo (1997), Plametto (1997), and Last Days of Disco (1998). Sevigny in 1999 was nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar and Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of Lana (girlfriend of a transsexual boy) in the movie Boys Don’t Cry. She also had two more successful movies that premiered in the Sundance Festival. She also starred in the Television series Zodiac that aired in 2007. She is currently busy releasing a clothing line.
