Who is Charo?

Charo: Maria del Rosario Pilar Martinez Molina Baeza de Rasten is known as Charo in the film fraternity. Charo was born on March 13th, 1951 in Murcia, Spain. She is an actress, singer, dancer, classical guitarist, and comedian. Disputes are there in her birth date, they are that official records of both Spain and United States state that she was born in 1941, but she claims she was born only in 1951. She is known for her provocative clothes and nonchalant stage presence. She is famous for her line "“Cuchi-Cuchi." Her father was a lawyer by profession. She did her schooling in Murcia. Segovia, the famous guitarist was her guitar teacher there. She was named the Best Flamenco Guitarist in Guitar Player magazines readers’ poll twice. She has a flamboyant stage presence and hence she feels her talents as a guitar player has been sidelined. Charo was discovered by famous bandleader Xavier Cugat and got married to him at the age of 15. However, her parents were not too happy and wanted to hide the fact that she was only 15 because Cugat was 60 years old at the time of their marriage and hence publicized the fact, that she was 21 years old, when she married Cugat. From there started the controversy of her age, whether the year she was born in was 1941 or 1951, it does not really matter because whatever her age, she looks ravishing even now.
