Charlotte Rampling was born on 5th February 1945 in Sturmer, Essex, United Kingdom. She is a former British model and actress. She attended St. Hilda’s School in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England, and Jeanne dArc Academie pour Jeunes Filles in Versailles. She started her career at the age of seventeen with modelling. Her first film roles included Richard Lester’s movies How to Get It and The Knack in 1965. In 1966, she acted in the movie Georgy Girl as Meredith. After this she branched herself into French as well as British movies. Later in 1969, she essayed the role of a sensitive, young wife, who was sent to the concentration camp because of which her whole life was changed and she turned sinister in Luchino Visconti’s movie The Damned. She has essayed this mysterious, sensitive kind of roles numerous times and hence her look in these movies became famous. In 1974, she acted in a movie called the Night Porter, where she was again a concentration camp inmate, who falls in love with the guard out there portrayed by Dirk Bogarde. Charlotte married Bryan Southcombe in 1972 and they had a son called Barnaby. They got divorced in 1976. She was remarried to French composer Jean Michael Jarre in 1978.
