Catherine Zeta Jones is a Welsh actress, who settled down in the United States later on. She was born on September 25th, 1969, Treboeth, Swansea, Wales. She was a theatre artist right from a very young age. She acted in many television movies and bagged small roles in films till one day luck was on her side and she got huge hits in the form of movies like The Phantom, The Mask of Zorro, Entrapment etc. These had come her way in the late 90s. She also won an Academy Award for rendering the role of Velma Kelly in 2002, it was for the film adaptation of Chicago, and the award she won was for Best Supporting Actress. She shares her birthday with her famous star husband Michael Douglas, with whom she acted in the movie Traffic in 2000. She was born to very ordinary parents. Her father David Dai Jones was a sweets factory owner and her mother was a seamstress in Treboeth, South Wales. Her mother was of Irish origin. She was the middle one of three children in the Jones family. In the 1980s, her parents won 100,000 pounds in bingo and hence could move to a little higher-class area in Swansea called St Andrews Drive.
