Catherine McCormack was born in Alton, Hampshire, England on January 1, 1972. She is an English actress. Her mother had died of lupus at the age of six and she was brought-up by her father, who was an ordinary steelworker. Her debut film was titled Loaded directed by Anna Campion. Her first recognized character was in the hit movie Braveheart, as Murron. Braveheart boosted her career like no other movie and from then on, she acted in many prestigious movies like Northstar by Nils Gaups, Dangerous Beauty by Marshall Herskovitz. Her other noteworthy movies are David Leland’s The Land Girls and Davy Kanes. This Years Love as Hannah starred the famous Kathy Burke too. She has also starred with Brad Pitt twice in Spy Game, which starred Robert Redford too and in the movie 28 Weeks later recently. She was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2001 for the role of Best Supporting Actress in the drama All My Sons at the Royal National Theatre, Cottesloe Stage.
