Cassandra Peterson was born on September 17, 1949 in Manhattan, Kansas in the United States. She is an American actress who is famous for her roles in horror movies. She was critically acclaimed for her portrayal of the role Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark. She gained popularity on Los Angeles television KJH, as the hostess of the movie Macabre, a weekly program on horror movies. Even though she was born in Manhattan, she was brought up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In the year 1967, she graduated from the General William J. Palmer High School in Colorado. Once she graduated, she went on to become a showgirl at The Dunes, Las Vegas. She made history by getting her name in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest showgirl in the history of Las Vegas. In 1971, she was able to attain a tiny role of a showgirl in the James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever. She portrayed the role of a topless dancer in the 1973 movie Working Girls and again posing the same way on the cover of the album by Tom Waits called Small Change in 1976. In the beginning of 1970, she went to Italy and became a part of the Italian Rock band I Latins Ochanats as a lead singer.
