Carmen Kass was born on the 14th of September, 1978, in Paide, Estonia. At fourteen years old, she was approached by an Italian modelling scout who offered to fly her to Milan. She moved to Paris at eighteen years old, and appeared on covers worldwide, including Vogue, Elle, Image, and Madame Figaro. She has modelled for such illustrious designers as Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Valentino, and Givenchy. She is famously known for The Gap advertising. In 2000, she won the Vogue Model of the Year award. She is the newest Max Factor spokesmodel. She is known for her tiny feet (in comparison to her frame size) and often her feet fall out of their shoes. In 2004, she moved into acting, in the film We Won’t Sleep Tonight – renamed Set Point for international release. In 2004, she ran for Parliament, winning 2000 votes but not the election. She plays chess, and partly owns Baltic Models. She has been linked to Leonardo di Caprio, Richie Akiva, and is now dating German chess player Eric Lobron.
