Carey Lowell was born on the 11th of February, 1961, in Huntington, New York. She is an American actress who rose to prominence for her 1989 role in Licence to Kill. As a child, she travelling around a lot with her geologist father. When she finished high school, she joined Ford Modelling Agency and worked with many clients along the lines of Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. Carey was married to photographer John Stember from 1984 to 1988. The following year, in 1989, she married actor Griffin Dunne and they remained together until 1995. They had a daughter named Hannad during the marriage. In 2002, Carey married long time boyfriend Richard Gere. They had already had a son, Homer James Jigme Gere in 2000. Carey and Richard are practicing Buddhists. Her first acting role was in 1986 as Julie in Dangerously Close. Just three years later she landed Licence to Kill. She is also well known for her role of A.D.A. Jamie Ross in Law & Order from 1996 to 2001, which she then reprised as Judge Jamie Ross in Law & Order: Trial by Jury in 2005. She has most recently ben seen as Christine in Six Degrees.
