Brooke Shields was born Brooke Christa Camille Shields on the 31st of May, 1965, in New York City, New York. She is a model turned actress. She was born into a well known family, and her parents divorced when she was a child. Brooke began working as a model when just a child. Controversy followed Brooke when she appeared nude in several films when she was only eleven. In 1980, she was the youngest model to appear on the cover of Vogue, and she appeared in The Blue Lagoon, which later she stated they used older body doubles for the nude scenes. Her career has stalled several times throughout her lifetime, and Brooke says that her height often prevents her from getting jobs opposite shorter leading men. Brooke has been linked to Dean Cain, John F. Kennedy, Michael Bolton, Prince Albert II of Monaco, and Michael Jackson. She married pro tennis player Andre Agassi from 1997 to 1999, but their marriage was annulled. In 2001, she married writer Chris Henchy. They have two daughters together. In 2005, Brooke publicly announced she was battling postpartum depression. She wrote the book Down Came the Rain about her depression experiences. She had a public spat with Tom Cruise when he made disparaging comments about her career. Cruise privately apologised, and Brooke attended his wedding.
