Britney Spears was born Britney Jean Spears on the 2nd of December, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi. She works primarily as a singer, songwriter, and occasional dancer and actress. When she was eight years old, she auditioned for The New Mickey Mouse Club, already being an accomplished gymnast and dancer. The producers decided she was too young, but introduced her to an agent. She spent time at NYC’s Professional Performing Arts School, also appearing in off-Broadway productions. In 1992, she appeared on Star Search. She lost, but returned to the New Mickey Mouse Club in Florida. She was on the show from 1993 to 1994. In 1997, Britney joined the group innosense, but she later decided to work solo. She released the single Baby One More Time in 1998, and it went certified Diamond worldwide. Her debut album Oops!... I Did It Again received critical acclaim, although controversy was never far away for this blonde. Britney famously dated Justin Timberlake from 1998 to 2002. In 2004, Britney married Jason Allen Alexander. The marriage lasted 55 hours, with an annulment granted. Also in 2004, she announced her engagement to Kevin Federline. They met just three months previously. They married in September. They’ve had two sons, and are now in a messy custody battle in the middle of their divorce.
