Brigitte Bardot was born Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot on the 28th of September, 1934, in Paris France. She has worked as an actress, fashion model, singer, and is widely considered to be the quintessential sex kitten of the 1960s. By the time she was 15 years old, Brigitte had established a serious modelling career, even splashing across the cover of Elle. In 1952, she first appeared on the screen in Crazy for Love. As a teenager, Brigitte had been dating director Roger Vadim. When she turned eighteen in 1952, they married. However, they divorced after only five years together. She went on to appear in such films as Doctor at Sea, Joy of Living, Helen of Troy, That Naughty Girl, Mademoiselle Striptease (also known as While Plucking the Daisy), and as Ursula in The Night Heaven Fell. Brigitte was forced to remain a European star, with her image considered to risque for Hollywood of the day. In 1960, Brigitte married Jacqies Charrier, and later that year had his son Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. Brigitte did not raise her son and said that being pregnant was like having a tumour. She divorced from Charrier in 1962. She then married Gunter Sachs from 1966 to 1969, and is currently married to Bernard d’Ormale, whom she married in 1992. Brigitte retired in 1973, and began promoting animal rights.
