Who is Bo Derek?

Bo Derek was born Mary Cathleen Collins on the 20th of November, 1956, in Long Beach, California. She is of Irish, German, Dutch, and Welsh origins. She began modelling to pay for a surf board. She gained an agent and began auditioning. She auditioned in 1972 for director John Derek, 46 years old. He filed for divorce, and they moved to Germany to avoid statutory rape charges as Bo was just sixteen years old. When she turned eighteen, they returned to the US in 1974, and they married two years later. They were together until John’s death in 1998. Bo made her first appearance on screen in Ocra: the Killer Whale in 1977. Her sex symbol status came from the film 10, in which Dudley Moore is torn between Julie Andrews and Bo. She received a Golden Globe nomination for that role. She appeared in Playboy in March 1980, photographed by her husband John. She has received four Golden Raspberry Awards. Since her husband’s death, Bo has been linked to Paul McCartney, Keifer Sutherland, and is currently dating John Corbett. She is a spokesperson for the Animal Welfare Institute. She now lives with her sister, brother-in-law, and their two children in Santa Ynez California. Her most recent appearance is as Maria Gianni in Fashion House.
