Beatrice Dalle was born Beatrice Cabarrou on the 19th of December, 1964, in Brest, Finistere, France. However, there are some conflicting sources that say she was born on Le Mans, Sarthe. She married Jean-Francois Dalle, but has since divorced from him. She worked as a model, until she met the filmmaker Jean-Jacques Beineix. Her gave her the lead role in his film 37°2 le matin, which was released in the UK and the US as Betty Blue. She then gained the lead role in La Visione del Sabba in 1988, Chimere in 1989, La Vengeance d’une femme in 1990. She also appeared in a Move to Memphis video in 1991. Her film debut to the US was Night on Earth in that same year. In 1997, she landed her first film role actually made within the US – The Blackout. In 1998, she was cast in The Sixth Sense, however, she was denied a work permit due to her arrest record for cocaine possession. That same year her engagement to Alessandro Gassman broke off when he married someone else, and she assaulted a meter maid for ticketing her car in a handicapped spot. In 2001, she played a cannibal in Trouble Every Day. She most recently appeared in A l’interieur. Allegedly, she secretly married an inmate at Hermitage Prison in Brest in late 2004.
