Barbara Schett was born on the 10th of March, 1976, in Innsbruck, Austria. She is a former Austrain tennis player. Her parents are both retired bankers. Barbara went professional as a tennis player in 1992. She has won three WTA Tour singles titles. She has won ten WTA Tour doubles titles. She has won no grand slams, and only one ITF Women’s Circuit singles titles. Her highest ranking was as Number 7 in the world in September 1999. Her superstition is that if she wins the first match in the tournament, she will always return to that same shower she used, and she has a lucky charm that her parents gave her – a white gold cross with diamonds. Her favourite place is actually Australia. Barbara also represented Austria in the Sydney 2000 Olympics in both singles and doubles. At 176 centimetres, she has a weight of 67 kilograms. She played right handed, with a two-handed backhand. Her career prize money is $3,109,510. In 1999, Barbara was named the TENNIS Magazine’s Most Improved Player. In her final event in her career, she played the Australian Open in 2005. She lost to number 26 seed Daniela Hantuchova in two sets in the second round.
