Aurelie Claudel was born on the 7th of August, 1980, in Saint-Mars-d'Outille, France. She has two brothers, and is part of a prominent family in France – in fact, she is a descendant of the French sculptor Camille Claudel. Aurelie was spotted by Dawn Wolfe in the Jardin des Plantes park in Paris, and he approached her about modelling when she was just thirteen years old. Despite her father’s protests, Aurelie dropped out of school to model. By the time she was eighteen, she had graced the cover of Cosmopolitan. She has since worked with Marie Claire, Vogue, Chloe, Emanuel Ungaro, and Gucci. She has featured in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit editions, and she has worked for Victoria’ Secret. Aurelie has also appeared in a Ricky Martin film clip. In 2004, Aurelie made a go at being behind the camera, working as a unit production manager on Ces aleas-la. Aurelie had her first child in 2006, and in that year, appeared as “The Pregnant Model” in the US Vogue edition entitled The Shape Issue.
