Annie Potts was born on the 28th of October, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in Franklin, Kentucky, and graduated from Franklin-Simpson High School. At Stephens College, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre Arts). Annie married James Hayman, and has had three sons called Clay, James, and Harry. When Annie was just seventeen, she was hit by a drunken car driver. However, she went on the star in many television and film roles, including Janine Melnitz in the Ghostbusters series of films. When she was 20, she was involved in another accident in which her husband at the time, Steven Hartley, lost his leg, and she retained multiple fractures. She has also famously appeared on the sitcom Designing Women. Recently, Annie has been guest starring on the drama Joan of Arcadia, the comedy Men in Trees, and also on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She most recently completed roles on Family Man and Spellbound. Annie has apparently been unlucky in love, being married and divorced three times over. She has been married to current husband, James Hayman, since 1990.
