Anne Heche was born Anne Celeste Heche on the 25th of May, 1969 in Aurora, Ohio. Her early life was traumatic, with her father molesting her, telling his family that he was gay, and dying of AIDs in 1983. That same year, Anne’s older brother and fellow actor Nate died in a car accident. Anne was offered her first contract in 1985 at sixteen years old, but she decided to finish high school first. Upon graduation, she accepted another soap opera contract and played the dual roles of Vicky and Marley Love in Another World, from 1987 to 1991. One of Anne’s biggest claims to fame, however, was as the famous girlfriend of Elle DeGeneres. They began dating in 1997, and said they would get a legal union if it was ever allowed in Vermont. In August 2000, however, they split. After the split, Anne released an autobiography called Call Me Crazy, and she stated that she had been mentally ill for 31 years after her father’s abuse. Anne then dated camera operator Coleman Laffoon, married him in September 2001, and had his son in March 2002. Laffoon filed for divorce in February 2007, with rumours abounding about Anne and her current co-star James Tupper.
