Andrea Corr was born Andrea Jane Corr on the 17th of May, 1974, in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland. She works primarily as a singer in the pop/rock band The Corrs, and she is an occasional actress. Her parents were both musicians. Andrea, with siblings Caroline, Sharon, and Jim formed The Corrs to audition in 1991 for the film The Commitments. They all appeared in the film, but only Andrea had a speaking role. In 1998, The Corrs had the UKs best selling album, Talk on Corners. They were the first Irish band to ever achieve that feat. Every album The Corrs released has sold at least five million copies worldwide – and to this date, they have released seven albums, not including their additional special releases. Andrea also appeared in the musical Evita with Madonna. Andrea prefers to perform with The Corrs in her bare feet. In 2006, The Corrs announced they were taking a break to concentrate on their growing families. They released a greatest hits compilation in November 2006. Andrea then released her first solo album in 2007 called Ten Feet High.
