Anahi was born Anahi Giovanna Puente Portilla on the 14th of May, 1983, in Mexico City. She works as an actress and singer in Mexico. At the tender age of two years old, Anahi first stepped on a stage and found her passion. She first appeared on the sketch show Chiquilladas in 1988 on which her older sister Marichelo already worked. She worked in television throughout her childhood, on Muchachitas in 1991, Angeles sin paraiso in 1992, Madres Egoistas in 1993, and a further four television programs until 1998. She also had film roles in 1989 in Habia una vez una estrella, in 1991 in Nacidos para morir, and two roles in 1992 in El Ganador and Ayudame compadre. Anahi also pursued her singing, releasing three albums so far. Her first leading role came in the Mexican television series Primer amor… a mil por hora in 2000, portraying Jovana Luna Guerra. Anahi was reported to have an eating disorder during the year 2000, but she overcame the illness by 2002 to work as Jessica Riquelme in Clase 406. She most recently played the lead role of Mia Colucci in the series Rebelde. Anahi has her own online store, promoting her clothing line and other accessories.
