Amy Smart was born Amy Lysle Smart on the 26th of March, 1976, in Topanga, California. Inspired by a friend to study ballet, Amy trained for ten years. She then enrolled in acting classes at the age of sixteen. However, it was as a fashion model that she first found fame. She worked in Milan, Paris, Mexico, and Tahiti. Amy’s first role was minor, as a co-pilot in the 1997 film Starship Troopers with Denise Richards. It was in the miniseries The ‘70s that Amy had her first starring role. In 1999, Amy gained further recognition for her portrayal of James Van Der Beek’s girlfriend in Varsity Blues. Amy also gained a role in the television series Felicity, as Scott Foley’s girlfriend. She then found herself in a number of teen flicks, including Road Trip in 2000, and The Butterfly Effect in 2004 with Ashton Kutcher. Amy had a role on the series Scrubs, playing the TCW (Tasty Coma Wife) as dubbed by the lead character JD. In 2005, she starred with Ryan Renolds in Just Friends, and in 2006 she was Jason Statham’s girlfriend in Crank. Amy also had a pivotal role in Starsky and Hutch. She is engaged to her boyfriend of thirteen years, actor Branden Williams.
