Who is Amy Dumas?

Amy Dumas was born Amy Christine Dumas on the 14th of April, 1975. She is a professional wrestler, and is best known by her ring name Lita. She was one of the most popular female wrestlers of all time during her 2000 to 2006 stint with World Wrestling Entertainment. She is also a punk rock singer, headlining the band The Luchagors. Amy travelled to Mexico to learn how to wrestle, and she financed her wrestling training by dancing under the name Misty. When Amy returned to the US, she worked as a valet on the independent circuit, and in the MCW under the ring name Angelica. In 1999, the booker of Extreme Championship Wrestling approached her. She debuted in ECW as Miss Congeniality, the girlfriend of Danny Doring. Amy attended the Funkin’ Conservatory school alongside 23 men and graduating in 1999. She returned to ECW, until the WWF saw footage of her and signed her up. Amy debuted as Lita with luchador Essa Rios in February 2000. Lita later became involved in Team Xtreme. Lita also had an onscreen relationship with Matt Hardy, which caused some controversy in regards to real life and on screen cheating. In 2002, Amy was working on the series Dark Angel, and injured herself, requiring neck surgery. Lita retired in 2006, and Amy now concentrates on her music.
