Amber Tamblyn was born Amber Rose Tamblyn on the 14th of May, 1983. This young lass is an Emmy and Golden Globe nominee. She was born in Santa Monica, California, and is the daughter of actor, dancer, singer Russ Tamblyn, and singer, teacher, artist Bonnie Murray. Amber was cast as Emily Bowen/Emily Quartermaine on the soap opera General Hospital in 1995. She played that role for six years until 2001. She appeared in several forgettable films, and had more notable appearances in popular television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Boston Public, CSI: Miami, and Punk’d. Amber had a horrific role in the beginning of the horror remake The Ring in 2002. Amber rose to even higher stardom when she landed the role of Joan Girardi on the drama series Joan of Arcadia. It was for this role that she received her nominations and awards accolades. Amber’s first major film role was in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, in 2005, with Alexis Bledel, and America Ferrera. They are making the sequel as we speak! Amber appeared in another horror film, The Grudge 2, with Sarah Michelle Gellar, in 2006. Amber has self published two books of poetry, and participates in regular poetry readings.
