Amanda Peet was born on the 11th of January, 1972, in New York City, New York. Her father was a lawyer and she mother was a social worker. They are now divorced. Amanda’s father is also a Quaker, and her mother is Jewish. Amanda graduated from Columbia University, during which she took Uta Hagen’s acting class and decided to become an actress. Amanda’s first gig was in an advertisement for Skittles. She started in Law and Order, and her film debut was in 1995 in Animal Room. She continued to work regularly in obscure independent features. In 1999, she landed the role of Zac in the television series Jack & Jill. It aired for two seasons. She also appeared in Seinfeld. The Whole Nine Yards in 2000 with Bruce Willis catapulted her to stardom and she was voted one of the 50 Most Beautiful People. She also appeared in Something’s Gotta Give with Diane Keaton. In 2005, after just six rehearsal days, Amanda filled in for Marisa Tomei in the play This Is How It Goes. Amanda met David Benioff on a blind date, and they married in September 2006. Amanda gave birth to their daughter, Frances Pen, on the 20th of February 2007.
