Amanda Holden was born Amanda Louise Holden on the 16th of February, 1971, in Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire, England. Amanda made her television debut on the series Blind Date. She was unsuccessful in her search for love. She had previously trained at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and her first proper role came in the soap opera EastEnders in 1994. The role she is probably known best for, however, is as Mia Bevan on Cutting It from 2002 to 2004. . Amanda was also nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie. In 1995, Amanda married presenter Les Dennis. However, she caused a scandal when she split from Les after her affair with actor Neil Morrissey. Les and Amanda divorced in 2003. Her affair was parodied in the television show Extras. On a charity show, Amanda announced her engagement to record executive Chris Hughes. In January 2006, Amanda gave birth to Alexa Louise Florence Hughes by caesarean section. In 2007, Amanda most recently appeared as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. She also recently appeared in the television series Wild at Heart.
