Alison Lohman was born Alison Marion Lohman on the 18th of September, 1979, in Palm Springs, California, in the United States. Her parents are an architect and a bakery owner. Alison is a vegetarian who owns two cats called Monk and Clint. By the age of seventeen, Alison had appeared in twelve major productions and had been a back up singer for Frank Sinatra. In 1997, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She made a bunch of B-grade movies, television productions, and children’s films. It was in 2002 when she landed her breakthrough role in White Oleander alongside Michelle Pfeiffer and Renee Zellweger. In 2003, she appeared in Matchstick Men with Nicolas Cage, and then in Big Fish. She was running a trend of doing excellent work in films with little box office success. In 2005, she appeared nude for the film Where the Truth Lies, and her performance was met with some criticism. She is yet to have a box office success, although her acting is usually met with critical acclaim. Her latest film role is as Wendy in Under the Blue Sky, to be completed in 2008.
