Alex McLeod was born on the 21st of December 1968 in Galveston, Texas and was named Alexandra Ann McLeod. She is a television host and entertainment news reporter. She graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Speech Communications, and got her first job as a news intern at KPRC-NBC in Houston. She then moved to Los Angeles, acting at UCLA, and gained several roles in sitcoms and commercials. Her first role was on Married with Children, but her real break was on Moviewatch in the UK as the cheeky Hollywood correspondent. In 2000, Alex was cast as the host of Trading Spaces for forty episodes. Alex gained a daytime Emmy nomination, along with the producers of the show, in the Outstanding Special Class Series category. Alex is involved in a number of charities including UNICEF, Habit for Humanity, and the American Heart Association. In 2005, Alex partnered with Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church to donate furniture and decorate the homes of 15 families devastated by Hurricane Katrina in Galveston. Alex personally delivered the items and spent weeks talking with the families.
