Alanis Morissette was born Alanis Nadine Morissette in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, on the 1st of June 1974. She is a Canadian-American singer who is talented enough to write her own songs, produce records, and occasionally she even acts. Alanis has a twin brother called Wade and an older brother Chad. This successful lady has won seven Grammy Awards! Her career began way back in Canada when she was a teenager. She made two pop albums before she released her rock inspired international debut album, Jagged Little Pill. Jagged Little Pill is the highest selling debut album in the world! Alanis then produced her following four albums. In 1986, Alanis first tried acting on the children’s television show You Can’t Do That on Television. She appeared in five episodes, and used the money to release her single Fate Stay with Me. Alanis enrolled in the Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, Ontario. However, when Maverick Records released Jagged Little Pill, there were bigger things in store for her. Maverick Records is owned by Madonna, but Alanis has only met her a handful of times.
