Alana Dante was born in Belgium on the 1st of December in 1969. She is a European singer who began her career singing in karaoke clubs and at discos. Her career took off in 1997 when she released a dance version of Celine Dion’s song Think Twice. Talented producer Peter Neefs discovered her, and she then released the single Take Me For a Ride. It was a hit! Her following single, The Life of the Party was also a massive hit, and so Alana and Peter made the decision to release a full album entitled Disco-Suppa-Girl. In 1999, Belgium hosted three semi-finals for an entrant into the Eurovision Song Contest. They were held over three consecutive Sundays in February. Alana performed on the third semi-final, on the 21st of February. She sang Get Ready for the Sunsand, and was awarded a total of 32 points. She had won her semi-final. On February the 28th, she competed in the final with the same song. She was awarded 30 points, coming third to Wendy Fierce (31 points) and Vanessa Chinitor (46 points). Vanessa placed 12th in the Eurovision Song Contest. However, Alana had another hit on her hand which reached Number One in the Belgium music charts. Alana loves dogs, spaghetti, the colour blue, and fitness.
