Abigail Good is an enigmatic, little-known English actress. She gained some notoriety in 1999 when it was announced that she played the masked woman in the film Eyes Wide Shut, with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. It was thought that the actress who played the role of Mandy, the druggy prostitute, (Julienne Davis) had also played the masked woman. Tom Cruise’s character, Dr William Harford, is redeemed at the orgy by a masked woman. This masked woman risks her life to do so, and Dr Harford believes this woman is Mandy repaying him for help he gave her earlier in the film. However, a press release confirmed that Abigail Good was the masked woman redeeming Tom Cruise. There has been some contention since as to whether Julienne Davis or Abigail Good played the role and spoke the words of the masked woman. Julienne Davis contends that Abigail Good was simply an extra. Abigail says that Julienne was always late and difficult to work with. It seems that Abigail indeed played the woman and spoke the lines, whereas Julienne appears in the early scenes, in the morgue, and in the background at the orgy. Abigail once stated that Stanley Kubrick “liked my long legs, he preferred the way I walked...she’s taking the glory for my body.”
