Who is Sheryl Crow?

Sheryl Crow was born on the 11th of February, 1962, in Kennett, Missouri, USA. She is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, and political activist. Born Sheryl Suzanne Crow, she came from a musical family with her father a trumpet playing lawyer, and her mother a piano teacher. She graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, with a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition, Performance, and Education. Sheryl taught music at an elementary school whilst she played in bands on the weekends. Her music career first began in jingles, and toured with Michael Jackson during his BAD tour in 1987 to 1989. In 1992 she made an unreleased, self titled album. Her label rejected the album. Her boyfriend, Kevin Gilbert, invited her to join his weekly jam session called the Tuesday Music Collective. They helped Sheryl come up with new material for her Tuesday Night Music Club album. Sheryl received several Grammy awards for the album. Her second album was self titled, and it was banned from Wal-Mart because one of the songs claims that guns sold by the store end up in the hands of children too easily. Since releasing seven more albums, Sheryl has been diagnosed with breast cancer, which she has successfully overcome.
